Every capital call, checked by a person and paid on time.

Give your funds one Capcalls address. Our software reads each notice, someone on our team checks every figure and wire detail against the original, and once you approve, we pay the fund before it’s due.

An example capital call notice from Meridian Growth Fund IV for $250,000, due October 16. A Capcalls reviewer has checked the amount against the commitment, the due date, and the wire account against the fund’s earlier calls, and the call is ready for the investor to approve.

Five funds, five formats, and about two weeks to pay each one.

An example inbox with capital call notices from five funds, each in a different format, including one email claiming updated wire instructions.

The last one is the kind of email wire fraud starts with: new bank details and a short deadline.

If a call goes unpaid, the partnership agreement sets the penalty.

Interest on the late amount
Charged on the unpaid amount from the due date.
A smaller stake
The fund can dilute your interest to cover what you didn’t fund.
Losing the position
Some agreements let the fund take back your interest altogether.

Software reads it.A person checks it.You approve it.

Every call takes the same four steps, and you can always see which step it’s on and who has it.

  1. Received

    Capcalls

Your funds send notices to your own Capcalls address, or you forward them. We pull out the amount, due date and wire details, and keep the original.

  2. Checked

    A person on our team

Someone compares every figure with the original notice and the fund’s earlier calls. Anything new, unclear or changed is held until it’s resolved.

  3. Approved

    You

You see the amount, the due date, where the money goes and who checked it. Nothing moves until you approve. Rather wire it yourself? Say so, and we’ll track it the same way.

  4. Paid

Capcalls, signed off by a person

We move the money from your bank and wire the fund before the due date. Someone signs off every outgoing wire, and we tell you when the fund confirms it arrived.

A person reads every notice before you do.

Software is quick at reading notices. It can’t be accountable for one. On every call, someone on our team:

  • Confirms the notice is yours, from the right fund, for the right commitment.
  • Checks the amount and due date against the original document.
  • Compares the wire details with every earlier call from that fund.
  • Holds anything new or changed, and tells you before you’re asked to approve.
  • Signs off the outgoing wire and stays on it until the fund confirms receipt.
  • If a payment comes back, tells you what happened and what happens next.
When a fund’s bank details change, you see the old and new account side by side, and approval stays locked until you’ve looked.

You approve every call

Each capital call needs your approval before any money moves for it.

We sign off every wire

A person on our team approves each outgoing payment too. Two approvals, every time.

We never hold your money

It moves from your bank to the fund through our banking partners. Capcalls is software.

Between calls, it’s all in one place.

See what you’ve committed to each fund, what’s been called and what’s left. We collect your K-1s by fund and tax year, check them, and share them with your accountant.

Questions investors ask us

Does Capcalls hold my money?

No. Your money moves from your bank to the fund through our banking partners. Capcalls is software and never holds client funds.

Can money move without my approval?

No. Every call needs your approval before any money moves for it, and a person on our team signs off each outgoing wire as well.

How do my notices reach Capcalls?

You get your own Capcalls email address to give your funds, and you can forward notices to it too. If a fund only posts to a portal, we’ll work out the best route with you when you join.

What happens if something looks wrong?

We hold the call and tell you what we found. A person follows up by email, or by WhatsApp if you’ve turned it on, until it’s resolved.

Can my accountant get my K-1s?

Yes. We collect your K-1s by fund and tax year, check them, and share them with your accountant.

Who is Capcalls for?

Investors with commitments to several private funds who handle capital calls themselves, and the advisors who work with them.

Capcalls is in private beta.

We’re working with a small group of investors and their advisors, and we set each one up personally. Tell us how many funds you invest in, and we’ll be in touch.
